CEAS is currently accepting applications for Evaluators and a Compliance Manager.  Evaluators, under the leadership of the Accreditation Director, have responsibility for tasks involved in the accreditation, approval, renewal, and monitoring and oversight of adoption service providers.  The Compliance Manager, under the leadership of the Executive Director, has responsibility for monitoring and oversight activities including complaint reviews, other compliance reviews, and adverse actions.
Candidates must have experience required in 22 CFR Part 96.24 (a), which currently requires expertise in intercountry adoption, standards evaluation, finance or accounting, or experience with the management or oversight of child welfare organizations and other experience and skills detailed in the Job Description.

IAAME to Withdraw as Accrediting Entity and transfer responsibilities to CEAS

On May 29, 2025, the Department of State announced that Intercountry Adoption Accreditation and Maintenance Entity, Inc. (IAAME) confirmed that it will cease serving as a designated accrediting entity.
CEAS, IAAME, and the Department are committed to a smooth transition for adoption service providers and families.  IAAME’s work will conclude in September 2025 and all accrediting entity responsibilities will be transfered to Center for Excellence in Adoption Services (CEAS).


June 2025
revised Intercountry Adoption Accreditation regulations
take effect

On January 8, 2025, revisions to the regulations for Intercountry Adoption took effect.  These revisions amend regulations to provide clarification, updates, or other adaptation of familiar accreditation and approval standards for intercountry adoption.
The revised regulations include a new section with alternative procedures for primary providers that apply in intercountry adoption by relatives and emphasize that accredited agencies and approved persons comply with all applicable laws in foreign countries where they provide adoption services.

Intercountry Adoption Accreditation Program Opens!

On December 1, 2022, CEAS fully assumed its accrediting entity role and
is now responsible for accrediting, approving, monitoring, and overseeing adoption service providers within its assigned jurisdiction. 

We look forward to all the great work we have envisioned for the future and are grateful for the opportunity to have a positive impact on children, families, individuals, and communities around the world.

U.S. Department of State Designates Ceas as an accrediting entity

On June 2, 2022, the Department of State designated
Center for Excellence in Adoption Services as an accrediting entity under the Intercountry Adoption Act of 2000 (IAA)
in accordance with 22 CFR Part 96.
The designation is for a period of five years.
